Recipe // Summer Tomato Salad
Were I forced to pick a favorite produce season, I’d be Team Summer Tomato all the way, so I am truly remiss to have made it all the way to August (!) without preparing a truly excellent plate of tomatoes.
My favorite recipe is not really a recipe at all? I like to chunk up an assortment of heirloom varieties into thick wedges, topping with slivers of pickled red onion, crumbled blue cheese (I’m partial to Point Reyes Original Blue) & a chiffonade of fresh basil. Drizzle the whole platter with good olive oil (Ina girls know what I mean) & season with plenty of Maldon Sea Salt & fresh cracked pepper.
Eat immediately, with gusto & perhaps some crusty bread for sopping up all of the leftover tomatoey-olive oil deliciousness. It’s truly summer on a plate.
